A revolution in modern pool design

Freeform pools were first introduced in California in the early 20th century by pool construction pioneers Philip Ilsley and Pascal Paddock. These custom freeform pools were first built into irregular shapes but soon began being constructed into naturalistic shapes and styles with specialty water elements inspired by nature. Ilsley later built a pool in the Hollywood Hills in the shape of a hepatica leaf that is known as one of the most iconic freeform swimming pools in history.
